Jacob is always positive and having fun. He keeps the team loose and excited to play. He supports his teammates regardless of circumstance. He is responsible, accountable and a hard worker, making him a role model to younger players on the team.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 27
Robert is a four-year starter who touches everyone’s spirit with his determination and love for basketball. He has gained fans from St. Paul, Minneapolis, Buffalo and all the way to Bayfield, Wis. When he touches the court, his energy is just infectious and rubs off on those around him.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 26
Cameron epitomizes the word “team.” All season long he brought energy, excitement and encouragement to the varsity bench. He worked hard during and after practice and cracked the varsity rotation late in the season. Cameron also spent time volunteering at elementary basketball and helped coach a fourth-grade girls team. His positive attitude and smile provide leadership in the Win-E-Mac hallways, as well.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 25
Being a great teammate always starts with setting the example through actions. Karon is a leader by example. He is not the loudest person in the room but his actions stand out among his teammates. He has a genuine compassion for his teammates and is always willing to step outside the box to make a difference.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 24
Priya is a leader on and off the court. Her on-court leadership is seen as she encourages teammates from her point guard position. On weekends, she has helped coach 4-6th grade teams. Just past the halfway point of the season she suffered a season-ending knee injury but continued to support and assist her teammates, not missing a practice or game and always offering tips and advice.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 23
Kylie is the Big Lake dance team’s first three-year captain and three-year all-state representative in Jazz. As the only senior on the team, she has been the biggest and best role model our team could have ever asked for. She has helped our program grow and be more competitive. Her contributions made our success possible.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 22
Brooke is a determined and hard-working gymnast. While rehabbing an injury suffered in December, she continued to come to the gym and encourage her teammates to give it their best in practice and competitions. When Brooke returned to action, she was even more determined to help her team. She is a third-year leader who is well-respected by all. Her leadership and motivational skills make her an excellent teammate and friend.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 20
Despite spending the majority of time on the bench, Abby is an unbelievably supportive and encouraging teammate. Her voice can be heard in every game, backing her teammates and offering inspiration for everyone. She is an incredible example for everyone in the gym. She is a true example of a Most Valuable Teammate.
Most Valuable Teammate Week 19
Maya, a two-year captain, led the team to its first victory over Minneapolis South in nearly a decade. While putting up a triple-double, Maya kept her poise, patience and leadership intact during an emotional team victory.
